About Katrina

I live in East London with my husband and our two children, but I grew up under the beautiful big skies and in the wide expanses of Montana. (My favourite place in the world, below left). I received my BSc in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego and am a senior yoga teacher (see my yoga page for more). I felt compelled to train as a hypnobirthing instructor after having to work much harder for the birth I wanted with my second child. I received my KGHypnobirthing DipHB with Katharine Graves and Kemi Johnson in 2019 when said second child was 4 months old (I felt that passionately about it!) and have been been running group and private antenatal courses in Tower Hamlets and Hackney since.

Even with a degree in human biology and as a longtime yoga teacher, there was so much about pregnancy and birth that I didn’t know. Two babies later and as a hypnobirthing instructor, I see the incredible benefits that come with filling that gap in knowledge. We simply don’t know what we don’t know, and let me tell you, knowing will make a profound difference to your experience. Birth will likely surprise you in some way. Your antenatal class won’t tell you enough. A healthy baby is one of the most important things, but I believe that equal importance should be placed on how you feel during and after birth which can have a big impact on your feelings toward birth, your mental health and/or your bond with your baby. While birth may not always go to plan, the whole of your experience from beginning to end should be considered, caring and empowering, and I hope you experience just that. It’s a beautiful, powerful transition and I’m on a mission to spread the word.
